  1. Thank you for taking the time to look at FingerPrint.  The
  2. following is a list of the files in the FingerPrint package:

  4.           README.1ST -- This file.
  5.           FNGRPRNT.QST -- FingerPrint Quick Start.
  6.           FNGRPRNT.TXT -- FingerPrint Documentation.
  7.           FNGRPRNT.EXE -- The FingerPrint program.
  8.           IDCHECK.EXE -- Program to check the FingerPrint against
  9.                the current configuration.

  11. The FingerPrint Quick Start provides a quick overview of the
  12. program, and should allow most intermediate to advanced users to
  13. get FingerPrint installed and running quickly; whereas the
  14. FingerPrint Documentation provides more detailed information on
  15. using the programs, and the programs themselves.

  17. FingerPrint is being distributed as shareware.  If you like the
  18. program, and your package is unregistered, the registration fee
  19. ($15) would be appreciated.  This is what you'll receive with
  20. your registration: a diskette from me containing your registered
  21. version (as well as a number of other goodies), free support for
  22. FingerPrint, and a free diskette containing the next version of
  23. FingerPrint (when available).  Once you are registered, you will
  24. receive super discounts on future versions of FingerPrint.  The
  25. unregistered version is not handicapped in any way; however the
  26. registered version is a few bytes smaller, because I don't have to
  27. include the "beg text."  If you do decide to register, please let
  28. me know how you got the program (just to satisy my curiosity).  If
  29. this package will be used at all in a business or governmental
  30. environment, the registration fee is mandatory.  If you are in a
  31. business or governmental environment and do not wish to register,
  32. then please do not use the program.

  34. FingerPrint is a copyrighted program.  I'm a programmer, not a
  35. lawyer, so I'll not try to impress you with a bunch of
  36. legal-sounding nonsense.  You are not permitted to modify my
  37. program in any way, nor are you allowed to do any of the things
  38. that copyrighting normally prohibits you from doing.  Please use
  39. my program, but please don't steal it.

  41. Please pass FingerPrint along to others, even if you don't like
  42. it, because someone may like and need it.  Thanks.  Comments,
  43. suggestions, and even bug reports are greatly appreciated.
